This is where the bride and groom are staying. Leith is on the shores of the Firth of Forth and is the port of Edinburgh, its a great spot with lively bars and fantastic restaurants. About a 10 minute drive from Portobello, it has good bus connections into the city centre, also about 10 minutes away.

For ease of travel and convenience to Portobello we are recommending guests stay in either Central Edinburgh or Portobello and the surrounding area’s including Joppa and Leith.
Edinburgh is a very easy city to get around, the 26 bus route connects Portobello to the City Centre (20mins), and taxi’s are around £10, please see the Trauchle section for more info

A German chain of hotels, Edinburgh-Royal and Edinburgh-Princes are the first branches to open in the UK. They come personally recommended by friends, its a great location in town, competitive rates, and really quite stylish - think tartan chic.

Portobello... and around
It's where the wedding is, where the bride and groom did much of their courting and it's by the seaside (yes we know it's january and will be chilly) There are lovely cafes and restaurants popping up all the time, nice bars, old man pubs and boutique and vintage shops. It also has free on street parking and the 26 bus is regular and takes you to the centre of Edinburgh in 20 minutes. Joppa is a continuation of Portobello along the coastal road. It is walkable to Portobello along the promenade (though maybe not in your heels) or a quick car/bus journey.
If you prefer high end accommodation please skip this part, but if you don’t mind any of the following - a bit of floral linen (think c1990’s not c1950’s), a blether with the owner, or a fawlty towers vibe please read on.
