Coming From London? Take the train.
According to The Guardian newspaper the train to Scotland is one of the prettiest rail journeys you can make in the UK. We've always travelled up by train from Kings Cross, it’s comfy and quick, the average journey time is 4 1/2 hours and takes you straight into the Centre of Edinburgh. Put together a few treats, a good read, some tunes and enjoy the wintery wonderland whizzing by.

Prefer to fly?

There is only one airport, Edinburgh Airport, which is about 8 miles west of the city center

From London and the South East, flights operate from the following airports to Edinburgh

Getting from the Airport to Edinburgh City Centre  is very easy and good value
The Airlink 100 bus is every 10 minutes, and takes around 30 minutes to get to Waverley Bridge in the centre of Edinburgh
Fares- Single £3.50, Return £6. The tram also connects the airport to the city centre and runs every 8-12 minutes. Fares - £5 single, £8 return.

Travelling by car?

If you are staying in Portobello, Joppa, or Leith there is free on street parking.

If you are staying in central Edinburgh, driving is not the best option, parking in the city centre can be difficult and expensive.
